Day 01   U. S. / BEIJING

Take an international flight from San Francisco to Beijing, the capital of China. The airline will serve meals and movies for in-flight entertainment.

 
Day 02    BEIJING

Arrive in Beijing, once the imperial city of Mongol, Ming and Manchu emperors. After clearing government formalities, meet our representatives who will transport you to the hotel for rest.

 
Day 03    BEIJING (AB, L, D)

Today's highlight is a trip to the astonishing Great Wall of China, claimed to be the only man-made structures on Earth that can be observed from the moon. After lunch, you will make a stop at a jade factory, where you will have the opportunity to purchase many different styles of jade sculptures and jewelry.  If permitted (excursion), we will visit the new landmarks of Beijing-the Olympics sites including Birds Nest National Stadium, Water Cube Aquatics cetre and the National Grand Theatre.  In the evening you will attend a delicious Peking Duck Dinner.

 
Day 04    BEIJING (AB, L, D)

The excursion today includes a visit to Tiananmen Square, the largest public square in the world and the Forbidden City-the imperial palace which contains the largest and most intact collection of ancient structures in the world. This was the palace for 24 emperors of the Ming, and Qing Dynasties who ruled China for over 500 years. Following lunch, there will be a tour of the Summer Palace, the famous resort of Empress Dowager Ci Xi. There you can tour Longevity Hill and Kunming Lake as well as take a leisurely walk down the Long Corridor. In the evening, watch an exciting acrobatic show.

 
Day 05    BEIJING / XIAN (AB, L, D)

This morning fly to Xian, the ancient capital city for 11 dynasties in Chinese history. Upon arrival in Xian, you will visit the Big Wild Goose Pagoda and Shanxi Provincial Museum of History. After a dumpling dinner banquet, you will be delighted by an on-stage performance of Tang Dynasty dance and music.

 
Day 06    XIAN (AB, L, D)

After breakfast, visit the Tomb of Emperor Qin Shi Huang, the first emperor, and see the amazing Terra-Cotta Warriors and Horses, widely regarded as the eighth wonder of the world. You will then take a tour of the well-preserved city wall and visit the well-known lacquer ware furniture factory. The rest of the day will be left free for your leisure.

 
Day 07    XIAN / WUXI (via Shanghai) (AB, L, D)

This morning you will fly to Shanghai. Upon arrival at Shanghai airport, you will be met and transferred to the city of Wuxi, the Land of Fish and Rice. The highlight today is a tour of the beautiful Tai Lake in Wuxi, the third largest fresh-water lake in China. Stay overnight in Wuxi

 
Day 08    WUXI / SUZHOU (AB, L, D)

Visit the famous pearl factory which produces the best jewelry in China. In fact, these fresh-water pearls of Tai Lake are as pretty and precious as Mikimoto pearls in Japan and Tahitian pearls in the Pacific Ocean. The ideal depth of Tai Lake and the right amount of nutrients in the water create colorful and lustrous fresh-water pearls. From here, board a bus to the city of Suzhou, which is often referred to as the Venice of the East? In the afternoon, you will cruise on the world famous ancient Grand Canal of more than 1400 years history to experience the unique culture and glimpse the daily life of the local residents.

 
Day 09    SUZHOU / SHANGHAI (AB, L, D)

Visit the silk spinning factory, where you will watch the fashion show and have a chance to buy the finest silk products in China. You will then visit the Lingering Garden and the ancient Panmen Gate, the only existing water and land gate in China.  Then board a bus for Shanghai, China's most popular cosmopolis that has attracted the visitors from all over the world. The remainder of the day feel free to explore this exciting city on your own.

 
Day 10    SHANGHAI (AB, L, D)

Today's excursion takes you to the Bund, Yu Garden, the bustling Nanjing Road and the well-known Shanghai Museum of Art & History, which ranks among the great museums of the world.

 
DAY 11   SHANGHAI / U. S. (AB)

Today you will take a departure transfer to the airport for your flight home.
